Description: Federal belt buckle backmarked .S149 Accurate.. Buckles such as this one were common among the officers of the Corps of Cadets at Kemper from the period between 1880 until immediately after the Spanish American War. Several photos depict cadet officers wearing the buckle likely to emulate the regular army instructor staff.
